Marlene Teaching in Peru

My Childhood

I grew up in a family-oriented home. My loving parents, Pablo and Rosa, taught me to live with excitement and passion. My father was actively involved in many social and cultural activities and leading sports clubs. His dedication in keeping our community connected inspired me to follow his example. By the age of six years, I discovered my gift of connecting and helping needy children in Peru by providing them with food, clothing, and toys.

By the age of fourteen, I had many experiences visiting the hospitals and medical centers, spending nights in the pediatric rooms taking care of the children who had no visitors. With the support of my parents, my twin sister and I had organized a friendship club. There we taught them reading, writing, music, dance, and social skills. We also organized our first Christmas party, where we collected toys and clothing to give to the children. I left Peru in 1991 to begin nursing school in Buenos Aires, Argentina. From there I worked as a nurse for the Department of Health. Later, I worked in hospitals, private clinics, and public schools.

Marlene Davis - A Lifelong Learner

During the last few years, Marlene Davis has spent time increasing her ability to help others by continuing her education and learning. She has attended advanced training and seminars of brain research and child development, the Jensen Learning Institute, and was trained at the Loving Guidance Institute to be a certified Conscious Discipline Instructor. This has allowed her to live her dreams of helping families in Peru, Mexico, and the United States find better ways to discipline their children. "Helping parents create a better world for their children is my passion."

She has been happily married for 11 years and has two beautiful children.

I did it!

I currently teach the programs Self-esteem for Parents and Positive Discipline and am also attending advanced seminars and trainings on brain research. I lead a support group for women that have suffered from Domestic Violence. I have achieved my greatest dreams of becoming an American Citizen and continuing to help the children in Peru. I look forward to continuing my journey of helping others fulfill their own dreams.
